An easy way to send karma on MS Teams

There are two ways to give karma in MS Teams — typed commands or the quick action button. Both work in any team channel where Karma is installed.

Using the quick action button
The quickest way without typing a command: open the Karma tab in your team, click the give karma button, select the user, choose the number of points, add a description, and hit send. No commands to remember.

Using commands in a channel
Type directly in any channel where Karma is active:

• Give 1 karma point:

@Karma @Username ++ reason for the karma

• Give multiple points at once:

@Karma @Username 5++ reason for the karma

A note on descriptions
Adding a description with every karma request is encouraged — it tells the recipient exactly what they did well and builds more useful profiles over time. On some plan configurations, a description may be required.

After you send
If auto-approve is turned off (the default), you'll receive a private message from Karma to approve or decline the request before it posts to the channel. If auto-approve is on, the karma posts immediately.

If you need to check your settings or adjust permissions, go to the Settings tab in the Karma app inside your team.

One thing to confirm before publishing: whether the quick action button UI described in the original article still exists in the current MS Teams app experience — the tab-based interface may have changed. If someone on the team can take a fresh screenshot of the current give karma flow in Teams, it would make this article significantly more useful.
