In this article, you will learn how to add, edit, and manage values to create a culture that fosters success.

Navigating to the values settings section

To access Values settings log in to your account. In the header, click on the dropdown menu, then select Settings, and choose Values from the list of available sections. This will take you to the Values page, where you can define, organize, and manage your company’s core values.

Managing values

The Values management tab allows you to set and update the values that shape your company’s workplace culture. Core values are essential for building a unified team that shares the same mission and principles. By making values visible to all team members, you reinforce the behaviors and mindset that contribute to success.

Adding a new value
To add a new value, click the Add value button at the top of the page. This will open a form where you can enter the value’s title, choose an emoji to represent it, and write a description that explains its significance. You can also select a color for visual distinction.

Using suggestions
The system offers value suggestions such as "Collaboration" or "Commitment" to help you quickly define key principles. You can select from these or create your own.

Setting a default value
When adding or editing a value, you can choose to set it as the default value. This will apply when no specific values are mentioned in a recognition post, ensuring that general actions align with core principles.

Editing and deleting values

Values may need to evolve over time as your company grows and changes. Karma makes it easy to edit or delete existing values:

Editing a value
Hover over the value you want to edit and click the three dots that appear on the right. Select Edit to open the value’s details. Here, you can change the title, emoji, description, and color to better align with current team priorities.

Deleting a value
If a value is no longer relevant or needs to be replaced, click the three dots next to the value and select Delete. This action will remove the value from your list, ensuring your company values remain up-to-date and relevant.

How to make changes

- Updating values
To make changes to any value, simply click on the Edit button for the relevant card in the Values settings tab. All changes are saved after pressing the Save button and will take effect immediately in the system.

- Reverting changes
If you need to undo a change, you can edit the value again and revert it to its original state, or delete it if it’s no longer necessary.
